At Artlin Consulting, we’re not only committed to our clients we’re deeply committed to our community. We are passionate about giving back to our community and are always looking for volunteer opportunities. If you know of a need or have an idea for a volunteering opportunity in the DMV area, please contact us or email email@example.com. Below are some of the community service activities that we, our families, partners and clients participate in every year and over the past months.
Operation Covert Santa
Artlin supported Operation Covert Santa by adopting a veteran family to support during the holidays. The US Army veteran sustained serious injuries several years ago during combat and is currently undergoing major surgery and rehabilitation. The Artlin team came together to donate items from the service member’s modest family Christmas wishlist. In addition to gifts the family requested, and the many additional generous gifts from our team, Artlin purchased an iPad and house cleaning services for the parents and a virtual reality headset for an Apple Hotwheels set for their sons.
Wreaths Across America
Artlin family and friends joined Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 14th, to support the fallen by placing wreaths on graves at Arlington National Cemetery. We had a great turn out, despite the weather. Artlin donated 40 wreaths on behalf of our volunteers. Thanks to everyone who made this event a success!
Domestic Violence Awareness
On Thursday, October 24, members of the Artlin Consulting team and our family members participated in the effort to raise awareness to domestic violence with Doorways. Domestic violence is a large problem in the world today, one that tends to be glossed over by many because in many instances, it is unheard, and hidden. By wearing purple, we made an effort to show victims that they are not alone and that we are there for them and support them.
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
On Saturday, October 12, members of the Artlin Consulting team joined the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at the National Harbor to participate in the annual PFF 5K to raise funds, awareness, and show support for all those who suffer from Pulmonary Fibrosis and their loved ones. It was wonderful to see so many people attend the event and join together to bring about a world without Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
On Sunday, September 29, Artlin Consulting attended the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event geared towards raising funds and showing support to all those who suffer from the disease, care for those afflicted and help fight for a world where Alzheimer’s is no longer the heartbreaking diagnosis it is hosted by The Alzheimer’s Association®. We had a wonderful time and were encouraged to see such a wide array of people from all walks of life attending such a great event. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s!
Childhood Cancer Awareness
On Thursday, September 19, the Artlin Consulting family came together to help raise awareness and show support to sufferers of Childhood Cancer and their loved ones with the American Childhood Cancer Organization. Consultants wore yellow and gold to show their support and were even joined by clients, friends, and pets in taking a stand against Childhood Cancer. The America’s VetDogs puppy, Artie, we sponsored also accidentally participated too!
Walk for the Ages
Elderly Care is one of the most important yet often overlooked responsibility that a society has towards its people. On this National Grandparents’ Day, Artlin was proud to sponsor and participate in the first annual Walk for the Ages organized by the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) in September 2019. A group of Artlin team members and our guests gathered at Glen Echo Park in Maryland to show support and do our part to help raise awareness for this important work.
Capital Area Food Bank
Hunger is wide-spread problem throughout the world and our Nation’s capital is no exception. Artlin Consulting is grateful that there are organizations out there like the Capital Area Food Bank that do so much to help feed those who struggle to feed themselves. We are proud to say that we have contributed towards ending this battle against hunger with a donation to CAFB in the hopes that what we can help make a difference.
In September 2018, Artlin consultants and their families partnered with Eastern Foundry to raise money for America’s VetDogs. Through bake sales and fundraisers, we raised over $6,000 to sponsor a future service dog, Artie, for a veteran in need. America’s VetDogs provides service and guide dogs to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities.
Artie was born and is currently being trained by his raiser, Jenn, in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you would like to see what Jenn and Artie are up to, please go to their Instagram!
In June 2019, Artlin consultants once again assisted the Cornerstone Schools in Washington, DC packing up classrooms for the summer with their teachers. A month later, we donated supplies for teachers in students.
Cornerstone not only provides a top-notch education, but a safe & caring environment for children growing up in challenging circumstances. Artlin has supported Cornerstone financially and with volunteers for several years because of their tremendous impact on families in the DC community.
Izaak Walton League Picnic
Artlin consultants and their families participated in the Izaak Walton League Picnic and Fishing Derby by assisting with setting up the event, escorting and assisting guests, and helping clean up. Each year, the Arlington-Fairfax Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America hosts a picnic and fishing day for children and adults with physical and life challenges.
