Artlin Data Technologist

Position Role:
Artlin Consulting’s Data Management team is looking for high energy problem solvers who are passionate about helping clients achieve process excellence. The Data technologist is expected to be a creative person who has a holistic and systematic approach to solving problems with strong communication and organizational skills. This opportunity will require a high degree of technical support in a myriad of platforms and technology stacks

Work Experience:

  • Proven ability in providing direction to the project teams for work products due as well as the
    overall status of the projects assigned

Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance physical and logical data models using TOAD and ERWin
  • Develop and maintain Sharepoint Tools Suite.
  • Develop Hybrid Access/Sharepoint Solutions
  • Sharepoint/JIRA integration experience a plus
  • Development of triggers, trigger functions, stored procedures, and other high-order Data Definition
    Language
  • Composition of accurate and complete definitions for entities, attributes, relationships, and rules
  • Design architecture, map business rules and processes into technical solutions.
  • Perform analysis, development, and ETL strategies.
  • Perform data check and cleaning operations
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the data warehouse ecosystem
  • Work closely with stakeholders on the data demand side (analysts and data scientists)
  • Create highly reusable code modules and packages that can be leveraged across the data pipeline
  • Develop and maintain data dictionary for published data sources

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in Database Development, specifically in at least one for the following: SQL Server, Oracle,
    MySQL, SQLLite, Postgres. Postgres a plus. Strong understanding of SQL required (Select, Delete,
    Update, joins, views, etc)
  • 1 year experience in MS Access. VBA experience required
  • 1 years in SharePoint administration and customization. SharePoint Development experience highly
    desired
  • Experience in JQuery, CSS, Data Tables, and Javascript
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to define requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical/business field
  • Experience working on-site with Federal Government clients
  • Experience in System Development Life Cycle/ IT delivery projects. Agile methodology a plus.

Enterprise Information (EI) Data Scientist

Position Role:
The EI Data Scientist is will be a key contributor on an Executive-level Department of Defense Analytic team, leveraging knowledge of data science, methodologies, and processing techniques to support analytics and gather data from disparate Federal, Defense and public databases in support of Major Weapon System acquisition and program management. As the Data Scientist, you will work directly with Department leadership and diverse analytical research cell.

Responsibilities:

  • Leveraging technical and analytical expertise to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of discovering patterns and previously hidden insights, providing process efficiencies, or addressing a pressing business problem.
  • Apply expertise in computer science, software development, and the latest technologies to design and implement analysis infrastructure and tools, analytic workflow processes, and complex data visualizations.
  • Leverage knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts, computer science, or domain to bridge the gap between technologists and mathematicians, ensuring analytical and reporting capabilities and software solutions meet analytic requirements.
  • Look for and propose additional analytical opportunities; support further refinement of analytical use cases.
  • Document and visualize data both temporally and spatially, and present data to managers.
  • Create and provide informational briefings that are required to explain methodologies and analytical findings to peers and customer stakeholders.
  • Investigate and implement new scientific analysis and methodologies to support data analytics efforts and stay current with evolving technologies and capabilities.
  • Complete ad hoc data extract and reporting tasks as requested by organizational leaders.
  • Perform data extracts and loads from source data systems to analytical data stores.
  • Work with business leaders to solve business problems by understanding, preparing, and analyzing data to predict emerging trends and provide recommendations to optimize business results.

Experience Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other business-related field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience, DoD/Federal Government experience preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience

Analytical Support Service  – Location Washington DC Area -

Reviewing reports or associated correspondence packages for completeness, structure, content, and format; analyzing information from a variety of acquisition and program sources; authoring, reviewing, and editing documents and preparing reports; participating in program performance assessments of Major Defense Acquisitions Programs.  Ensuring that senior leader decisions are clearly communicated in items of correspondence prepared for signature; determining the acceptability of documents based on composition, coordination, and logical analysis; monitoring workload and precedence of tasks in order to direct prioritized changes to documents and routing based on rational well-founded priorities; possessing the ability to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, manage priorities, and handle sensitive information; interacting with and managing a broad range of highly sensitive issues with the front offices of the Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, Joint Staff, Defense Agencies, GAO, Combatant Commands, US and foreign industry, and Congress.

General responsibilities (depending on office and position assigned):
Drafting funding and contracting documents for review by senior leadership; producing read-ahead materials; maintaining and reconciling budgets; composing correspondence and memoranda requiring independent judgment as to content; ensuring correspondence accuracy, format, spelling and grammar; assembling enclosures, attachments and other reference documentation before submission of the correspondence package to senior level decision makers for concurrence, approval and signature; routing correspondence in accordance with approved distribution codes or other designated routing lists; processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, recommending format and content changes; maintaining all correspondence control systems to reflect current task status at all times; preparing internal office correspondence; assisting in the control and accountability of classified documents stored within the office; ensuring special handling of correspondence which may require expediting (i.e., letters addressed to the White House, Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission and Congress); maintaining office and executive calendars, including but not limited to scheduling of appointments, meetings, travel, speeches, conferences, Congressional testimony and media appearances; providing customer service to customers by telephone and in person; providing pickup and delivery of correspondence; processing requests for travel arrangements, accommodations and reimbursement of expenses, both manually and through the Defense Travel System; preparing requests for building passes and site visit authorizations; processing incoming mail, facsimile and email; providing responses to public requests or calls for information and assistance.
